Jewellery Care
Our jewellery is made to be worn, loved, and treasured – for a lifetime.
But over time, silver and gold can oxidise by exposure to the air and substances from the skin. To make your pieces last a lifetime, follow the tips below:
Store your jewellery in the pouch provided or a glass jewellery box.
Moisture can cause rapid oxidisation, so avoid storing your jewellery in the bathroom.
If oxidisation occurs, scrub your jewellery with a toothbrush, warm water and washing up liquid to bring back the shine on the piece (for pieces without gemstones only)*.
Keep your jewellery away from perfumes and household chemicals, as they can stain your pieces.
Take off your jewellery before strenuous activities or sports to avoid wear and tear.
Remove your jewellery before swimming in a pool or the sea.
Feel the need for a glow-up? Polish your jewels with the provided cloth for an instant shine.
If your jewellery has gemstones:
Only use water to clean pearls as they are sensitive to chemicals.
Be aware that any gemstones might crack, shatter or break if dropped or hit against a hard surface.
Every stone is unique and varies in pattern or colour, so they might differ from the product image.
If your jewellery is gold vermeil:
The base metal of your piece is still sterling silver and is coated in a thick layer of 18ct gold (3 microns).
Keep your gold vermeil jewellery away from perfumes and household chemicals, as they can stain them and the gold layer can start to wear away.
Eventually, you might notice a bit of discolouring which is normal on any gold vermeil and plated pieces. Please get in touch if you want your ring to be coated in 18ct gold again.
